Hidden in nature – Shrikshetra Sarovar Tirtha Adinath Shiva Temple Osarvira
On the way from Jawhar to Nashik, a little past the Morchundi Ghat on National Highway 160A, a junction on the left takes you to a small village called Osarvira. This village, nestled in the lap of lush nature, is famous for its Jagruti Swayambhu Shiva Temple. There is a small tank in front of the temple. This tank holds water throughout the year. There is a Shivling here since ancient times and locals say that many Shiva devotees have experienced this temple, which is considered to be Jagruti. A pilgrimage is held here on the day of Mahashivratri and this village, which is inhabited by Warli, Konkana and Katkari communities, is bustling with Shiva devotees.
Osarvira Tirtha Kshetra is a famous Jagdishthan in Mokhada taluka and Beriste Gram Panchayat area. What is special about this Tirtha is that it is a place sitting in the shape of a round Shivpindi on the hills and mountains above Osarvira village. This lake Tirtha Adinath Shiv Temple has been around since ancient times and was not established by any human being. Trimbakeshwar is a famous Shiva Jyotirlinga among the 12 Jyotirlingas. This place was mentioned in the second chapter of the Shiva and Vishnu Bhagwan Purana of that time, in the second chapter. At that time, the sages performed great penance on this Tirtha. The glory of this place is like Mother Ganga. Lord Shankar has created such a solitary Triveni Sangam for Lord Shiva.
