Bohada
Bohada festival is celebrated on a large scale in Mokhada taluka. Bohada festival has a tradition of more than 250 years. In this festival, tribal artists wear masks of various gods and goddesses on their heads and other artists play musical instruments and sambal. The artists wearing masks dance to that rhythm. Other tribal artists also help them in dancing. These masks are made by tribal artists themselves from umber and teak wood. 'Bohada' is a part of tribal culture like Shimga festival. Wood carving is done using handicrafts like Warli art. These masks are made of traditional tribal gods as well as gods from Ramayana and Mahabharata. In this festival, mythological stories are presented by taking the costumes of gods, goddesses, demons, wild animals, historical and mythological figures. Many costumes are taken like Ganapati, Saraswati, Raktadevi, Kalika, demons, Ram, Ravana, Hanuman. Wearing masks and a prabhavali, they dance these songs in the pavilions and courts and present mythological stories with the help of the conductor and the conductor. In these festivals, it is generally customary to dance songs all night before the festival begins. This festival is also called Bhavada, Lalit. From the invocation of the goddess to the festival, there is a tradition of performing folk dramas along with rituals and rituals.
