Vision and Mission

The Water Conservation Department is one of the total 14 departments of Mokhada Panchayat Samiti. The Water Conservation Officer is the head of the department. Through the Water Conservation Department, percolation ponds, village ponds, kop dams, cement drain dams with irrigation capacity of 0 to 100 hectares are constructed. The non-tribal area planning department plans the tribal area through tribal projects and proposes works.

Objectives And Functions

  • Construction and beautification of village ponds. A village pond is a water reservoir created by building an earthen dam, generally 6.00 m high, on a stream near a village. Its use is to refill wells through seepage and to provide drinking water for animals and birds.
  • Construction/repair of cement concrete dams. The purpose of the dam is to store water by impounding post-monsoon water through construction of dams on the river and to refill wells through seepage and to provide drinking water for animals and birds.
